Are my hens really "Ameraucana's"

So are you saying the hatcheries are misleading people? Lying.... I have a blue Americauna coming form Myers in April, should I assume its an imposter even though they are charging me $22 for it?

Gary

Must. Finish. Coop.

Yes.
Do you think that the hatchery is owned by a chicken expert or just because it is a business with a website it's not allowed to lie?

Easter Egger.

But you can see here, ideal is calling theirs with an "au" as well....

And then claim they represent the breed and variety, even if not show quality! Talk about cop out.

Blue is possibly my favorite color! Hope yours is beautiful.

All of my "real" Ameraucanas....are from Ideal.
They are easter eggers.
NOT Ameraucanas even though their website says so.

I was just giving you my 2 cents.
I don't claim to know much but I too got all excited about Am's only to find out they were EE's.

The internet is full of experts, liars and just plain dummies.

How do you know they are imposters?

Thx

Gary
You have to very carefully read the hatchery descriptions...there is almost always a caveat, a CYA(cover your *****), a sneaky verbiage that gives it away.
Most folks don't see this part, they only see the parts 'they want' to, so miss the subtleties that get them fooled.

'False' marketing has long, long, long been one of my pet peeves.....
.....really came into full fruition as I had to start to teach my children about reading advertisements 30 years ago.

Meyer is one of the only hatcheries with real Ameraucana.
And they are one of the only hatcheries to honestly call their nonstandard birds, Easter Eggers.
This would be a good clue.
