Test Question #1.

Your rooster injured his testes by flying over a barbed wire fence. How many days after penile penetration of the hen, will you know if the rooster can still fertilize eggs?

Isn't the rooster's reproductive system on the inside so there's no way to injure it by flying over a barbed wire fence? ...Well I guess he could fall short and have a barb get inserted in him.

Answer #1

About three weeks.

.....if

A roo could survive being cut 3/4 into, since their testes are in the body cavity near the backbone.

........if

Roosters actually had a penis or penetration was required.

If you did not know this, and drive and vote.........Please raise your hand.

Not what I would call a common knowledge question.

I was not unobservant. I knew how dogs and humans mated - I wasn't born knowing that chickens work the same way.

I think sometimes people will grasp onto anything just to feel superior to others.

Hiker chick, I'm sorry I offended you, don't know why you would be offended. If you are a nurse, sorry but so am I so I wasn't making this direction to nurses in general. I guess I was just astounded to think that is how they thought some chickens were mated. This does not make these nurses dumb in nursing or caring for patients. They are excellent nurses and I was not trying to appear superior to them or anyone else. I was just making a general comment.

No, I am not a nurse. I just don't understand the tendency that people have to make fun of other people and call them stupid because they don't all know the same things. I grew up in the city, had no exposure to chickens. Yes, I understand human biology, but there is no way to know if chicken biology is the same or different. Some people in this forum think they are so smart because they know all about chickens and other people don't. Go hang out on a kayaking forum, or go to an Association of Woman Accountant's meeting and see if those people don't know some things that you don't know. Should they call you stupid and say that everything they know is "common sense"?

This was on another subject string, but it seems to apply here--

'. . . the dopey lady should have been apologetic, not defensive. there seems to be an epidemic of such people who unfortunately, usually have reproduced."

It just seems to fit. You try to cut people slack, even apologize to keep the peace, and they just don't know when to stop

YOu would be surprised the number of people who don't know what part of the chicken's body the egg comes out of, I have made several people egg free the rest of their lives.
