Hi,
I got 2 chicks yesterday from an acquaintance who had received 5 as a surprise.

She had them for almost 3 weeks, and her neighbor ordered them through the mail. In comparing them to my 1 month old RIR & red sex link, they seem about a week younger.

I think they are Australorps, what do you experts think??

You can't really tell from the pic (also depicting a patient friend with two birds roosting on her shoulder), but their legs are black on the front/top side.

So far, they are very sweet, and also fast and flight-prone...

Also, when can I put them in the same big box as the other two girls? They've already met in the garden.

Great, i thought so. Thanks! Now I need to go find out about the Austrolorps.

Any ideas on how to sex them? They are supposed to be hens, but want to know sooner than later if they are not.

Thanks much!
