Are these chicks dead in shell?

The chick's parents are a Silver Laced Wyandotte(hen) and a Rhode Island Red(Male), what is the breed. Sorry about the "she". How do you sex the chick?

You'll get Golden Males with incomplete lacing, & Red Females with incomplete lacing.

The males will be gold split to silver to be more clear. Gives them a bright yellow gold. Kind of lemony.

So males gold, & females red.

Is there a way to vaccinate for everything?

Pullets we buy from large-scale producers are vaccinated for:
  • Marek’s
  • Coccidiosis
  • Newcastle Disease
  • Gumboro
  • Infectious Bronchitis
  • Rhino
  • Tracheitis
To be honest, if you want to vaccinate you only need to vaccinate against:
  • Coccidiosis
  • Marek's
  • bronchitis if necessary
  • avian flu if possible
BUT vaccinations are bought in bulk. Do you have a backyard flock of no more that 25 individuals? Then vaccinating will probably present more trouble that protection.

How may chickens do you have?
The chicks must be quite a bit older to be vaccinated.
