are these cockerels?

I ordered 15 pullet barred rocks from cackle like a month ago and I'm starting to guess a couple of them are roos already , their combs are turning red already and they're definitely some of the larger chicks. Here is a pic of the first one I think is a cockerel

As you can see their feathers are really dark compared to the pullets and I thought it was suppose to be the opposite

Looks like a bunch of hens to me. I have a flock of barred rocks and the only cockerel out of them was a light grey chick that was significantly bigger than the dark gray ones.

I thought barred rocks had yellow legs with the pullets having black on the front of them.

Yes, hatched 5/6/15 if I remember correctly. How stood out because he was more of a light gray color and chunkier than the other ones. He was also a lot heavier than the others even though he was not that much larger in size.

Look like pullets to me Cockerels would have white barring, almost like 2 white, one black... The white and black are more even, with the white actually bring more dominant.... Pullets are black with white barring....the black stands out with 1/3 white barring... They do get combs early, but they will stay a pinkish color until POL, then they will redden up.

If they are Black Sex Links, then all the chicks in the pics are male as female BSLs lack the white spot on top of the head.

That is not the only characteristic of Barred sex links... Can't trust just the splash on legs or spot on head.... Has to be a culmination of all of them. Some have splash some don't. The barring is most evident if you look at the feathers as they come in

Based on my understanding they all look like pullets. At that age the males should have defined white stripes showing on the wings. Barred Rock pullets do seem to get their head gear faster than most other breeds.
