Are these eggs developing?

Thanks! I feel kind of silly now. Lol
Oh goodness...there's no reason to feel silly. Asking is the best thing you can do if you're unsure about something. That's what we're here for. That's how all of us have learned, we ask questions and/or learn from our mistakes. :thumbsup

If I hadn't hatched upright eggs, I wouldn't know anything about it. And I wondered, just like you, when my first upright eggs were developing like that. I was familiar with hatching eggs on their sides. Upright appears quite different. :)

Exactly. No need to feel silly. We all started at the beginning. It's a learning process for sure, so many little variables that can effect the hatch. All the bumps and questions you hit now will give you the troubleshooting experience you need to deftly navigate through future hatches. And a year or two from now, you'll be coaching others through their first hatches. :)

If interested in following my hatch.. I ordered 30 eggs. 28 went in the incubator a little after midnight on June 16. I removed 3 "yolkers" and 1 blood ring last night. About half (maybe more!) of these shipped eggs had detached or ruptured air cells. So far I can see development in 17 out of 24 still in the incubator. The other 7 I don't think are growing but I don't see blood rings or obvious yolkers so I'm leaving them in for now just in case :)

Took another peek last night and saw movement for the first time in the eggs! I think I counted 19 eggs with veining. The third picture down from the original post turned into a blood ring :( but had more development in a couple different eggs!

Pic from last night. You can see the eye! Day 6.

Day 7. Took out 5 more bad eggs. I'm glad I checked because a couple were getting smelly! All 19 left have signs of life! Saw lots of squirmy embryos. Will be leaving them alone for a few days now and will update again soon!

I'm getting nervous! A couple more eggs have died, and about a third, maybe more, that are left, have really messed up air cells.. I sure hope I can have a successful hatch!
