Hi everyone! Being a novice chicken owner, I really need some help! My father has bought my daughters (7 & 10) chickens every spring for the last 3 years. Unfortunately, they have not survived due to the neighbor’s dogs & all the local wildlife around us. We have an abundance of predators including coyotes, foxes, bobcats, & the occasional black bear. Well, we have finally made it 6 months without losing any of our hens!!! Yay!!! In April, he purchased 8 chicks from a local store, 5 red sexlink & 3 black sexlink. On Tuesday morning I was cracking eggs for breakfast when I noticed something on 2 of them that was not present in the others. (I’m posting pictures of the eggs in question.) After looking online, I am now wondering if what I seen was the blastoderm of a fertilized egg. Im hoping I’m mistaken, especially since all 8 were supposed to be hens. If anyone could give me their opinion on the picture, I would appreciate it so much!
