Ended up with 3 boys 1 girl in this group. There were 2 boys and 2 girls in the last 4 that went to the exotic guy.

If by chance one of the eBay eggs hatch, I’m going to keep 1 male and 1 female from my emus eggs to have a pair.

This little lady is going to someone that lost their female emu chick from eating large gravel driveway rocks. She took her to the vet knowing something was wrong, and the X-ray showed giant rocks that were stuck. Unfortunately she didn’t survive. So this one will be a new mate for her male chick.

Going to take them outside while it’s sunny. Buh bye.

Didn’t keep him someone needed a male and picked him up this morning. Then his sister went to a lady about an hour ago. Torn between liking and disliking this empty nest feeling lol

Just did the counting and the next batch aren’t due to hatch until next Friday 5/6 (3 wiggling) and the next batch after that is 5/11 (4 total)

The egg that had a hole in it didn’t develop. When the egg is rolled it stays put once you stop rolling it. That’s a sign of no development, or no body inside to make the egg shift weight once it’s stopped. Man I’ve learned so much from these eggs! Now I know why @Pyxis is a genius when it comes to hatching emu eggs…

This is completely unrelated to the actual emus, but may I ask what eggshell DNA service you used to get genders? I've got some ducks hatching currently and would love to use it!

There was a list of DNA labs and I chose the one closest. This place is located in Spokane. It took about two days for the samples to get there, they let you know once they’re received. Then it’s about 4 to 5 days for the testing results to be posted. Very happy with them!
