If they have silkied feathers, they are silkies, not mutts or crosses. Just poor quality. And no one has mentioned that they are all male.

Well, there's not much chicken choice round here (or maybe I'm not looking in the right places), so we've just picked up a couple of lovely plump Buff Orpingtons to start the flock with. Let's see how that goes
