are these speckled sussex chicks?

Any clue as to what they are? They are getting way to much pattern at this point to be rir buff orpington cross.

Did you ever figure out these chicks?

If you haven't already on a new thread, post some more photos when they feather in better. Usually by 6 weeks you can have an idea but mixes can change a lot with each juvenile molt so you may not be clear until 12 weeks or so...and maybe never. I have a couple of my mutts I still scratch my head over.
