This batch was kind of a mess. I think 2 had an extra toe, 1 has a single comb and the buff has a pink comb. I'm planning on maybe selling them for cheaper soon. I just want to make sure they're all cockerels, so that I wouldn't accidentally mislabele them. Also is the brownish one a buff? He looks like a buff, but he has a lot of white underneath the feathers and under the wings. Most have little wattles already.

To avoid confusion I have photos of 5 chicks. 2 blue, 1 white, 1 buff, 1 cuckoo.
The cuckoo is the only one I think could still be a pullet. She's smaller, slimmer, skinny legs, she always has her tail down. Very cautious and not very adventurous.

I'll post pictures of the blue cuckoo chick a bit later. I don't have any good ones yet.

Here's the blue cuckoo (at least I think that's what it is)
She has a very tiny wattle hidden under her beard.

Blue #2, & the white are pullets, the Cuckoo maybe a pullet too, but it's a tricky one.

Agreed.😊 The cuckoo looks female to me. Cuckoo is also one of the Silkie colors that tend to have pinker combs, even the females. Any one of them though could be late bloomers.
Some Silkie boys are obvious at this young age, but many you won’t know for sure if they’re male or female for several months yet.
I just had a Silkie Cockerel first look male about a week ago, at just over four months of age.

Yep, I know about the Cuckoos.

I sex my silkies as early as 1-7 days of age. So, I know genders before they start to show.

I only got 1 photo of the blue one. It's the comb/wattle close up.
The rest are of the cuckoo.
I think the blue might be a cockerel and the cuckoo a pullet. The cuckoo (named Smokey) has the same pink, slightly raised comb and no noticable wattles yet.

Update on Smokey (cuckoo)
(12 weeks old)

She looks and behaves like a pullet. Comb is still pink, but it's pretty pale, especially in the back. Still no noticeable wattles. Never seen her fight. She prefers to stay in the back and watch instead of being adventurous.
What do you think?
