They may possibly be pure but if you're looking to start breeding you will want to start with good stock. The foundation stock of your flock is the most important thing for breeding good quality birds. You can cull out traits you don't want over many years but it's a lot easier to start with good stock. Also while you can cull out traits you can never cull them in, so again what you start with is most important.
If you're just looking for pets or layers than there's absolutely nothing wrong with birds that have poor lacing. If you're looking to start breeding or showing than I'd say these aren't the hens you're looking for.
