Are vaccinated chickens organic?

I would like to raise my chickens organically for organic eggs, but the hatchery I am buying from suggests vaccines for Mareks and coccidiosis. Would my birds still lay organic eggs?

Mine too. My current flock is all McMurray and lovely.

Hmm, you'd have to check with the USDA on that...

For me, I have "organic" eggs, and that's good enough for my own consumption.

Will your eggs be great from a vaccinated chicken? Absolutely! Will they be "certified organic"? No...but neither will eggs from a vaccinated chicken without an expensive and paper-work intensive process.

"Organic" is as someone else mentioned, a government term that you can't use without certification.

I used Murry McMurry this summer for the first time...I ordered 3 breeds of chickens. I received at least 5. Only two roosters out of 55+ sexed chicks, though...so that's good.
