We just got our first snow. Some of the chickens were shivering a little bit this morning. I imagine it's especially cold for my poor bantam brahma that is still molting.
Question: are warm snacks okay to give to chickens or would it just mess with their natural body temperatures? What I mean is stuff like oats, bread or anything like that soaked in warm water.

It'll make the keeper feel better,
but IMO it doesn't really do much for keeping the birds 'warm'.
They are always excited for an out of the ordinary 'treat'.

I give raw rolled oats soaked in electrolyte/vitamins solution during really cold snaps.
The oats are just to carry the room temperature solution to make sure they consume it and better than an open waterer in the winter.
