Are You A Brinsea Owner? - April Hatch Along - Prize: Ecoglow Brooder!

I am definitely in this contest. I have chicks and poults in lockdown in my brinsea eco 20 right now. I will also have more that will be hatching around the 23rd for the easter hatchalong.

Well I candled again tonight and am now down to 5 d'uccle eggs and 2 silkies from 12 and 14, respectively.

Had a lot of non-fertiles/no veining/never developed 2 blood rings. 2 of my d'uccle are very questionable so we will see around the 23rd.

Mrs. Fluffy Puffy :

Well when I was taking the chicks out of the 'bator one of them was dead?

sorry that's never nice, guess the baby chickie wasn't strong enough to survive the experience. Poor thing seems like a waste all that effort to hatch then die.

Can someoen with a advance or Eco please help me out? I just loaded my new Advance and I have two rows of eggs. 12 total. I have the rails up close to the eggs but when the incubator makes its full rotation to either side int he auto turn craddel....My eggs seem to be slamming into the side. Does everyone elses do this? Is it would to causes any damage? Should I try to make the rails more snug against the eggs?

Anyone elses eggs make a noise when then turn in the auto craddle?

I have the Brinsea Advanced and the auto craddle DOES make a noise as it slowwwlyyyyy turns. Mine came with strips of foam that you put in the metal bars and they are pads so no way would mine be hurt when it turns. I actually took the foam OUT for this second hatch because I had 24 large eggs to fit in .....so there is no pads but still don't move any due to being so close together. You must have very small eggs?? You can put those metal bars where you want them...if your eggs are moving that much I would adjust them to make a smaller space.

mine didnt come with the foam others mention, but Ijust cut down my pulp style egg cartons (really cut them down) to hold each egg in its own hole. No rolling, no shifting, and they are hatching so well!
