Flick their tails when they squat. They swing it way over and afterward they really fluff up their feathers.

Couldn't help but notice you consider Leghorns docile..? I was a bit surprised to see that lol, what I've read of them says they are flighty, loud and skittish. I have a friend who owns a leghorn who is loud and would fly the coop if her wings weren't clipped, but she is actually pretty friendly and sweet

I would suggest Barred Plymouth Rocks. They do well in heat, are wonderful layers and are friendly birds from what I have experienced.

That video was great - I was just doing a search on squatting and this popped up!

My girls Gerry and Evie walk right up to me and when I put my hand down, then they squat

I wasn't sure why they were doing it, I just figured it was their "pet me please" pose

....it works...I pet them whenever they squat near me!!!
