I have 3 silkies and 4 frizzled D'Uccles. I WAS getting 4 eggs almost every day. Then Teeny went broody. Then I was getting 2-3 eggs a day. Teeny gave up trying to hatch eggs after 5 weeks, and the next day, 3 others went broody on me. Since then, no eggs. The 3 broodys finally decided it was to darn cold to hatch pine shavings about 3 weeks ago. Still no eggs!!

Hmm, maybe that will work. Along with a tight little hug.. LOL

One of our bantams surprised us a couple weeks ago when she started laying. We didn't think she was old enough and didn't expect anyone to start laying this winter since we didn't have a light in their house. We've had an abnormal cold spell lately and thinking about the hens out there with no heat was making me cold, so we put a light in last weekend. Our Barred Rock started laying today, our Golden Seabright and Leghorn have been laying regularly also.
