Ok, I guess I shouldn't laugh, and it's probably a sign that I don't live in town, AND have a VERY understanding DSO who thinks chickens are hilarious, and baby chicks are cuter than anything, but when you all have to hide or make excuses for an extra chick or two I bust up laughing.

We have who knows how many, and lots more new ones, and then I tell her I have more eggs coming and she doesn't bat an eye.

And, pastrymama, its all your fault for finding me an outlet for the eggs, and a source of feed at the same time.

Well, I didn't tell DH that I put fertile goose eggs under Bliz last night. They are not related to her, so I hope she hatches a male sebbie--course I have to figure out if she raises him whether she will accept him as a DH or not (geese can be funny like that). But Bliz was a Mother's Day present a couple of years ago, so m DH is pretty understanding. Never batted an eye when I added the muscovies or the barred rocks, although he DOES comment about poor Gneissly's crowing (LOUD and LOW), and the fact that he escapes daily into the main yard (to avoid being terrorized by a ratty silkie cock that is a quarter his size).

Somehow, I don't think we would just love ducks in our pool, or the neighbors would enjoy hearing them quack quack. We'll have to wait for them until we have our acre!

Trust me; you do NOT want ducks in your pool. A baby pool from Petsmart or Walmart would work for them, though. I recommend the SMALLER ones as they are much easier to empty. You can also get a tub or sink drain from Home Depot and install it.

Me, eother, but you really need to with an incubator. What kind did you get?

Also, neither FedEx nor UPS will accept live shipments. USPS is the only affordable means for shipping poultry.

Sonoran I just called Fedex and asked them if I an ship eggs. The clerk said yes and looked up the requirements. He said the only requirement is that you have to package them in something more than a Styrofoam carton. They have to be boxed so they don't move to aid in prevention of breakage. I"m going to try it, the seller says USPS is $11 to $14.0 with insurance, tracking, and to have you contacted when they arrive. For $13.00 I can have them shipped two day with insurance to $100.00 included, tracking included, and front door service included. That is from CA, I'm not sure how much it would me for other areas, and you may be right they may not accept living packages, like chicks.. I didn't ask.

Seramas are here!!!

Here's some pictures ... I'll get better ones tomorrow, they were a little over stimulated when I put all of them together - LOL! Our roo is Elvis, and the girls are Marilyn (Monroe), Celine, Priscilla, and (Mama) Cass. Marilyn is the Frizzle Serama, Celine is the Blue and Buff Serama, Priscilla is the black/brown/white lacey Serama, and Cass is the buff / tan Serama!!! Elvis is so calm, when you hold him he totally relaxes, and if you pet his comb area he about goes to sleep

Ummm cause one can never have enough ... I also have some Serama eggs coming on Saturday. I think I'm officially obsessed!

nurseronda - Cute chicks! I can't wait to have some babies. I got my four when they were already 5 weeks and ready to be outside (wow, 3 years ago!).
