LOL, Fast fingers, but the auto correct when I type something not in the dictionary kills me! Mine are 101 degrees with thermometer at the top of the eggs (but have a fan). It's what the breeder I got my eggs said to set it at, she says it's a degree higher than she runs standard eggs. I also got one of those water snake toys and have a digital thermometer probe in the middle of it to simulate inside of an egg and it's staying right at 99.5. I used some plastic eggs from Walgreens to rest the thermometer on when setting it up (I got the mini ones since I have small eggs). Course it's my first time too!!!
Hehehe! Elvis is in my son's room crowing his bootie off - my son is sleeping away. He had a late night up watching America's Funniest Home Videos ... he's 6 1/2 so it's his favorite show
I had the craziest night last night. I woke up at 3am and realized I never put the heat lamp on the chicks. UGH! At the same time, my 2yo woke up crying. I got her to go sit on the couch and I ran outside, followed by the 3 dogs. Apparently, there were javelinas INSIDE the chain link fence getting into the garbage. The dogs started chasing them and javelinas were running back and forth past me within a couple of feet. I was so worried about the chicks that I didn't care. So, I put the heat lamp and the space heater on, and realized there were only 7 instead of 8. One of the Buff Brahma Bantams was missing. Once the dogs cleared the javelinas out, I got my daughter and the two of us went out with flash lights to look for the missing girl. I knew it was hopeless, but had to look just in case. My daughter mentioned that she might have gone through the fence, and immediately saw her! She was just on the other side of the fence in a little ball. She was cold, but perfectly fine! I can't believe something didn't get her and I am shocked that we were able to see her. She blended in so well. What a crazy night! The kids are out now picking up garbage, but all 8 chicks are happy and accounted for.

I have that same one without a fan and I have that turner in a different model incubator. I love the turner. I use the still air as a hatcher only. I do have one slightly similar with fan and no turner that works great. I would love to get another turner like that.
I once got a picture from someone who bought shipped eggs from me and some from her own chickens. She had a horrible hatch. I spotted one problem immediately, no ventilation, she forgot to pull the plugs. Her thermometer and hydro meter were off too. When she check temp with another thermometer it was 102.5 steady.
