Too bad, I have a cat who LIVES to catch things. Especially gophers and mice and doves.

Doggone it. My mealworms are growing like crazy but there are a million gnats hanging out in the cage too. Anyone else have this problem? Was the watermelon rind too much moisture? How do I get rid of the gnats?

Not gnats, fruit flies. Got rid of the watermelon. Added bran. Added one apple, quartered and cut side buried in the wheat bran. I figure I'll wait an hour or three, pull an apple quarter (retrieved from a disinterested kids lunchbox) with worms clinging to it and give it to the hens for a treat. BEST CHICKEN TREAT EVER! Wash, rinse, repeat some other day. Saw a beetle too! Thanks Dar for the directions! Man I love this list.
