Long time, no posting. Hope everyone is well. I'm not even going to LOOK at earlier pages, for fear that I will get hooked and have to read all trillion posts I've missed. Not even going to tempt myself.

Work has been sucking the life source from me. My GM (the only person above me in the whole company) was put on bed rest and that left me. High and dry, not knowing how to do her job. So I'm learning as I go and it's been interesting to say the least.

Hartley and I are well. He currently gets hiccups 3-4 times a day which is a fun distraction from work.

Chickens are.. well, they're chickens. The grape vine is enormous and shades them well. Not a whole lot else to tell since I don't have a rotating flock anymore. Just don't have the energy for it for the time being, I guess. Actually, due to the ridiculously heightened sense of smell, I can hardly stand to go out for eggs. Thankfully DH has been getting home before me lately and gathers, waters and feeds for me. Then he feeds me too - not much is better than coming home from work to dinner almost ready to go onto the table!

On a side note, my nesting patterns have taken me to the backyard and I have an itch to redo nearly all of it. Wondered if I could talk anyone into telling me what fruit trees live successfully in your yard. My backyard is south facing and I'm looking to line the south and west walls with fruit trees. I figure I have room for about 8 more. Ok maybe 6.

We have a bunch of citrus, oranges, lemons etc and they seem to do real well. We also have a peach tree and an apple tree that need a bit more water but are doing good. The peach tree has had peaches for 2 years now and the apple tree got some blossoms this year but no fruit yet

I'm only going to commit to a lemon and a mandarin orange, citrus-wise. My parents have 100-something trees, about half of which are oranges so I can get my fill of that there. No one I know has mandarin and the only lemon tree I know of that I have access to is really old and started dying this year. I have an asian pear, peach and plum already. And that female mulberry I still haven't thought of a home for yet. I need to soon... it's almost 2 years old and in the same pot.
