Arizona Chickens

Looks good...I do not see any marigold in it. My Dellie was turning yellow with the Purina/Layena. That is why I switched to Manna Pro. Stock shop wouldn't be bad to drive to. I have family on that side of town.

Most California/West Coast breeders use Kings.

Sure. I have no idea where I'll put another grow-out, but I'll get it figured out.
Just have to talk the hubby into using the area behind the trees for another tractor.
I have to find a solution for irrigation days. These chick pens are a hassle on flood days. Any suggestions?

One by one I'm raising mine--either concrete blocks supporting a wire floor or filled in with sand and shavings.

My thought exactly! We should get a mix together from a feed mill (isn't there one in Casa Grande somewhere?). Bagging and shipping is a large portion of the cost - so I heard.

Wishlist: Quality (no ash

) layer feed no need to be organic. I usually use pellets but a mix would be fine. My dream price is below $12/50 lb.

It was between classes, silly!

But yes by all means come on down and I'll show 'em to ya!

Mikey,
if I would really come all the way over there I would quietly slip into the class room and learn as much as I could about your subject! He there is a thought: Anybody here in the Congress-Wickenburg-Morristown-Wittman-New River area up for a welding Saturday? Maybe we can rent Mikey?

Oh, now I am on fire!
lesson plan 1: weld pans to collect poop under roost
lesson plan 2: weld simple hanging feeder
lesson plan 3: weld nest box
lesson plan 4: weld treadle feeder
...
Final project: weld huge metal chicken sculpture (use as trojan chicken when needed to smuggle something into somebodies place)

Ohh, I like it! When can we start?

I just took the buggy feed back to B-B, they were very friendly & took it back no problem. I picked up a bag of Nutrena starter/grower. It does not list any ash in the analysis. I looked at the Kruse and it was around 10%.

I'm really hoping to get the chickies outside tomorrow!

On the way home from picking up some concrete anchors for the coop...

(and pricing roofing materials

Control Tower: "You should keep track of how much this chicken adventure is costing"

Mikey: "Honey, I really don't want to"

Control Tower: You should keep track of every penny we've spent on this"

Mikey: "Sweetie, we're never going to RE-COOP our losses!"
