If I had to guess, I'd say the top one is the PR. Yours has more feathers on the head than mine, but the coloring and other feathering is the same. I don't think my PRs look ratty any more, really. Maybe it's the GSL(gold sex link) you were noticing?
I also see some wattle on yours so maybe mine isn't a roo.

(Or maybe yours is and so is mine)

They are just a tad fuzzy.

Pastry thinks the bottom one is a roo. I'm really hoping it is a Red Broiler & the top is a PR. I really like the top one!

After seeing all your pictures I am impressed near speechlessness. Some of you (and you know who you are!) coop builders are doing such a superb job!
I still don't think you can judge a book by it's cover but I am pretty sure you can judge a "man's" character by his chicken coop

Granted, the mail is a bumpy ride. But the majority of us can't have roo's so shipping is our only option.

I'm getting Serama next week , which are also delicate, but I'll take my chances.

TT I love those pictures! I saw them when I first joined BYC and me and hubby laughed till it hurt! And all over again!

I love the look on the face of the one on the sink , while the other is in the water!

And they should smell bounce fresh!

I put my silkies in a bathtub of warm water with a little Castile Soap (Dr. Bronners), swooshed them around, drained the water, rinsed them with the detachable shower head, and then used the hairdryer to dry them. They didn't seem to mind.

I washed my Cornish X last summer with the hose outside when they got icky, especially if they looked like they were overheating. I didn't use soap but I thought about it.

A couple of my chicks got kind of wet when I was washing off the pasty butt. I just blow dried them and they loved it.

Mikey, I think your red one on top is a production red, hopefully pullet. The bottom one looks like a broiler. I can't believe how big the PR is, although I think it may just be the angle of the shot and the way she is sitting. I do have one PR that is looking pretty large, too.
I think I'm going to catch all my red ones from this batch, put them in a tub and count/ sort when I let them out today if I can. Some of the red ones are pretty fast and my tractor doesn't have a real gate or lid, I just lift it up to let them in or out so this could be a production.
