Oh, they are a tad larger as well.

Sounds like 2 roosters & 3 hens. Check your chicks' wattles - orpington pullets will not have wattles at 2 months of age, so if yours do, you have roos.

These are 8 week old roos that I had to rehome (black australorp & buff orpington)

IIagree with AZDesertChicks. See my blue orps, hatched at the same time. The one dark one is DEFINATELY a boy, and the little white one is still without combs and waddles. Unfortunately, the neighbor girl came and shook me down for chicks. So, I won't be able to show you any "progression" photos

I don't believe RIR's are a breed that can be wing/feather sexed as day olds.

Hatcheries use three methods of sexing day olds - color sexing in sex-link chicks, wing/feather sexing for those breeds and vent sexing for the rest, where a specially trained worker peeks into the vent to see if the chick has male or female parts."

Well-name them "Potpie" and "Parmesean" for now. Spoil them but stop snuggling them, and wait to see. If it crows, into the soup pot. If it lays an egg, it gets a new name and a belly scratch.

Of my first 12 chicks, 8 were boys.
