Arizona Chickens

Good day today.

Tammy picked up Blinky (the spitz with the bad eye) and she said the eye drained itself so Tammy thinks she is moving her eye now. Tammy applied the new eye stuff & when I got home her eye was not all swollen.

We got 6 eggs today & I was able to give mom a dozen fresh eggs! (first dozen we could give away!)

I got to take my son in law and step dad with 2 grand kids to the antique gas engine and tractor show in Apache Junction.

Then we visited the blacksmith neighbor of a friend who turns out to be friends with another co-worker blacksmith friend. (got all that?)

Small world, but I would'n want to paint it.

Mikey - I'm glad your gals are improving, good work!

Mama Hen Chris - So sorry for your gal's departure.

Nurseshelly, Memphis, Gallo - THANKS again for your response to my plea for help. I was surprised how few people responded, especially in this knowledgeable group. The GREAT news is that it is NOT MG, just trauma to the eye. I took her to the vet had a sample sent to be cultured, just in case. Pricey, but reassuring (I hope!). The hen is still acting and looking normal (but bored) and the eye swelling has greatly improved. The eye bubbles were just from the gap created by the swelling.

Hi Pima! How are your new chickies?

I'm so glad it was just an injury (how often can you say that!). That is what happened with my Ivy (SLW) too. I thought it was MG, but took her to the vet and she had just hurt herself somehow. That's the only reason I know a bit about it ... I researched the heck out of it before I could get into the vet, but it was about 8 months ago, so it's not as fresh in my mind as it used to be.

I am not sure that is pretty late. I have 2 very young girls who are in bed at that time. I live in apache junction. Is she going east at all? hmmm have to see if hubby is working or not..

Gads! You are at least a state away! I thought you were in Mesa and that bad enough. Thanks so much for trying to get me eggs for the hatch. It wasn't to be. I will be ready next year.
