AuroraRose: I wouldn't mind going in on some Freedom Rangers, or another slower growing broiler breed. I tried Cornish X last year, and although they were better than store bought chicken, they weren't enough better to justify how smelly and lazy they were.

Bryce: That is a really amazing set up, and a really beautiful pullet.

For anyone who was interested in processing, it looks like its going to happen sometime next week, depending on when Mikey's friend can catch them. Also, if people can find the time, it might be a good idea to see if we could get together and round up the feral chickens and find homes for them. They seem to be doing ok, other than getting eaten by owls, but it isn't the best situation.

what part of mesa are the feral chickens at
we are pretty good at catching feral chickens
we have help friends catch them before
did you get the fast growers or the slow growers

WAIT! STOP! UNAUTHORIZED!

Kim does not want to get rid of the hens, just the roos.

They live at her mother's house who passed away 3 years ago.

Kim still maintains the house every day and collects eggs and still wants the eggs.

We just have to catch the roos.

She would like to rent out the place which is gorgeous! It is 2600 sq/ft on 2 acres with a huge corralled horse area in the back. I wish I could buy it but that is not in the cards. Anyone interested in a place in Chandler lemme know!

Sorry for the miscommunication.

Quote: Turkey, she is at Lindsey and Guadalupe.

She is hoping to lure them into a pen/catchall with food/treats.

If that doesn't work it will get down to a scene from "Rocky"

Awesome.. I really want to raise my own chickens for processing... I hope I can learn to process from you. I have some BR hatchery males that I intend to use until then & be able to process them out... we shall see..

Happy Sunday all!

I am back from a Pump it Up b-day party for Pastrymama's boy. I am dog-tired.

BTW--if you ever have to run an obstacle course wtih Pastrymama, be aware: she cheats.
