Argh!! So frustrated!!

MPC won't ship Silkies until late April, and that's only if I choose an assortment. If I want to get picky and get whites or blues, it's late May. Ditto on any chocolate layer. They SAY they have Cuckoo Marans and Welsummers available to ship in March, but when I add them to my cart they say mid-May.

If I buy from any other hatchery, I have to buy 15-25 chickens! I've explained to my husband that we need to buy extras in case of death or roosterness, but I still can't convince him that means more than 6.

... anyone want to go in on a chick shipment with me?

Am I being too picky and/or impatient? *sigh*

Maybe I already mentioned it, but both Tofu and ChrystalGail have Wellies. I think Mahonri has Golden Marans(?)

Are you interested in hatching the eggs yourself? If you don't have an incubator, I could probably find space in mine. I have a CM pullet, with so-so egg color, but her eggs are fertile if you want me to try to hatch something out. She is under Patchwork, so they wouldn't be pures.

Also- I will be hatching some silkies at the end of April, but they will be fancy-pants ones.

I have willies and I have some Cuckoo Marans that are just starting to lay...I also have silikes too

I briefly toyed with the idea of hatching out the eggs myself, but the more I read about it the more I realized it may be too much for me as a chicken n00b. I'd be too scared to mess it all up since I wouldn't know what I was doing

Also, I asked my husband if he'd rather just get laying pullets but he said he wanted to raise the chicks cuz that way they'd be more "our babies"
