Arizona Chickens

I have sand in the run, it works nicely but that is due to the side being either a wall or plywood. During storms or winds it won't move much. However I am pretty dang sure if I put it in the run it will blow EVERYWHERE.
How much does it cost to cover 6 x 20ft with grass? Do you guys plant the seed or buy rolls? For the most part the run is shaded now. *yipee* so it's not that bad heat wise.

Laree, the sand is about $25 for me and $75 flat for delivery.

Once AGAIN someone came up and said, "Oh are you the chicken person? I was told there was a chicken person upstairs..." I have never met the gentleman before, and there is nothing chicken-y in my cubicle.

All the other cubie dogs were just LAUGHING, & laughing....

ANYWHOO--he was nice, just bought two chicks. I gave him a BYC bumpermagnet and invited him to come say hi in the AZ thread.

I don't want to get everyone excited just yet, but the egg rescued from my indifferent broody is pipping. I am 90% certain the egg is from Dozer, my sizzle that looks like a muppet.

Well, still no eggs. This is so frustrating! I'm picking up a Rhode Island White tomorrow that is already laying. Maybe she can teach my others a lesson in paying some RENT!

Anyone have an easier way to move landscape rocks than to rake them? :C I'm too lazy for this!
The rocks have been here for over 7 years so even raking the first 5 inches off there are still in the run being unearthed in moments.
GARG! LAZY! I seriously raked most of the rocks and moved them away two days ago. With the remaining I just smoothed it over the run.

I bet that they are the very same birds...who would spend that much money for a common enough chicken. On BYC...I could get a couple dozens eggs and raise some up for myself...............
