oh no. the extention cord to the chicks heat lamp got wet because i completely forgot it was uncovered. the light blew and there are pieces everywhere!! i cant see out there, cant find half of the pieces, keep slipping on mud and stepping on chicks. i just want to cry.
i already expect that i will be doing bumblefoot surgeries for the rest of my life now that there are shards everywhere. but do you think they will eat the pieces? they are red... their favorite food color.


Oh crud!!! Man hope you find it all... Just get a square shovel and take the top layer off??
That is what I plan on doing where their feed is all wet..

So all the leaves and fruit finally fell off my orange tree. Can I let the chickens go at it? It's a huge pile and looks like they'd have a blast in it, but I thought I would check real quick and make sure it's safe for them.

But cactus has fruit, too. . . . And prickly pare is wonderful in a salad. I do not like it cooked so fare... Haven't gone out of my way, yet, to try it in different ways.

When I cook those big leaves, I cut into very small pieces steam it and then add it to whatever dish I have also made. It adds another texture. I haven't tried it in a breakfast dish yet but imagine it would mix in well with onions, mushrooms omelet.

BYW your garden looks swell. Most of my plants are in pots at this point.

I thought I read somewhere that citrus wasn't ideal for chickens???? However mine constantly jump up and eat whatever leaves they can reach. They don't get to much of the fruit itself and when they do they don't seem to really care for it.

Citrus is fine. Mine don't care for it either. I'll bet they're having a blast scratching amongst the leaves!
