congrats!!!

Good luck with the hatch! I witnessed the Good Shepard Barred Rock cockerel I introduced to some of the pullets mate with one today! I was a bit worried since some people on the Good Shepard Barred Rock thread said they mature so slowly and weren't breeding until a year old....Mine are 10 months old. I've got 5 eggs in the incubator as a test, but maybe they were laid before the breeding started. Will candle on 2/5 and see!
Very good, Marcy...I am hoping FERTILE for you...I don't have high hopes for the 3 Barred Rock pullets' eggs I set...been quite awhile since mating now...who knows? Keep us up on your hatch and I will do the same.

A couple of years ago, I went to Tropica Mango and bought a Arizona Sweet orange tree as a Christmas present for my husband. We planted it. We fertilized it at the proper times. We watered it. The first year, I dutifully picked off all of the blossoms. More water. More fertilizer. The second year, we let it set a few fruit. I painted over the tear when a branch with three oranges on was ripped off during a windstorm. I covered it when we got a hard freeze this year. I worried when it got nipped by cold in spite of my best efforts.

Then, came the day I had dreamed of for years. My oranges were ripe. They were a bit large for an orange, but not freakishly so, given that they were the only two oranges on the tree. I sat down, and started to peel the first one. The skin was a bit thick, as I'd expected. Then, freed from its skin, I beheld the naked orange. I split it in half, ready to pull off a section. I noticed that it was pink. This was.....not what I'd expected. I thought, clinging desperately to hope "Maybe its one of those fancy Cara-Cara navels". I separated a small section, raised it to my mouth, and bit down. My orange tree is a grapefruit. A juicy, tasty, pink grapefruit, but still a grapefruit.

There is, I have no doubt, some deep and profound lesson about life to be learned from this experience. And I will learn it. Once I get finished being totally and completely vexed. Because grapefruit.

Hi AZ peeps! Newbie from East Tucson. Got our first chicks this week. We're totally new at this, but have been thinking about it for a while. We're pretty excited to raise our flock and get some fresh, happy eggs.

Tried that. many, many times. I think I have to go in and tell it were to find it or something. I a feeling I'm missing some key info. I could not be here when cable was installed. Brought my computer in, it's ok, modem ok, wireless devise ok. That leave my gray mater computer is missing something. Tomorrow, I am going to ask my nephew to fix it for me. I get so confused by it. Thanks for trying to help. It took me weeks to figure out Xbox account management and for Christmas I was given Black OPPS II, haven't even played it yet, I have been so busy sense Nov.. I just got back on line a couple weeks ago.

After ten plus years of fighting with windows products I switched to MAC and it is easier for me to complete new tasks. Still haven't used to I phone to the max capacity and I still hand write letters ?  I truely admire 70 year olds who figure out new programs. I'd rather be outside digging up plants.

I'm 65, and we live a long time. My mom's 97 this year, always had a boyfriend until about 5 yrs ago. Most of her boyfriend were 10 to 15 yrs younger, asked her why she dates younger men? Answer, "When I go out dinner and dancing I want to HAVE DINNER AND DANCE, men my age have dinner, burp and go to sleep."

I also rather be outside working or fishing. I am switching to Mac, I have IPhone & IPad, in 2015 I hope to have a Mac. Autocad works best on PC, ware graphics is Mac. Now Autocad, I've been told, works just as well on Mac. However, I am out of date with Autocad, have to go back to school to learn Rivet, the direction Autodesk has gone. I just do not want to go there. When I fired my last boss doing cad, I went back to driving a semi across county.

I am so happy you guys enjoy my goat pictures. I was afraid that soon I would get yelled at for putting goat pix up in a chicken forum! LOL The little goat with the most white has been spending a few nights in my bedroom in a kennel. She is weaker that her sister and needs extra feedings. Was up every two-three hours feeding a very reluctant baby. Ended up having to syringe food into her instead of using a bottle. She spent the day with her mother and was much stronger. I hope she feeds better for me tonight. Picture is of Les my DH giving her some cuddling before bed time. Her name is Jewel and her sister Pearl is doing great.
