Arizona Chickens

About what age do hens go broody? Ours are 7-8 months old.. Will they do that first then molt or the opposite??

Little ducky at 8 days old... just had to share. New chickies to hatch in 2 more weeks. My 2 broody silkies are co-setting on 17 eggs for a friend. Black Copper Marans, Olive Eggers and Ameracauna

How cute. That last picture is my favorite!

squeaky you get the best pix. You crack me up!
I was there one time with our daughter. I had no idea how
bold those huge birds are. We posed for a picture and one of them
grabbed the cup I was holding with feed and nearly took a finger with it.

The fun part was the area with the really colorful birds. I don't know what
they are called. You hold some nectar in your hand and they will fly and
land all over you. We got great pix of that.

Don't forget that chickens are a tax right off for 5 years..

I could see that if raising chickens was your business. Or if selling eggs was a business. You'd probably have to have a business license and charge tax and the whole bit. I don't see how it could be a deduction as a hobby...and if you do sell eggs, I'm sure the city would want their share of your profits.
