Arizona Chickens

Quote: My state statute, they must provide a copy of all CC&Rs. Bylaws, Rules, financial statements, most recent Reserve Study, budget, board members and officers and hteir contact information at closing. You are also required to sign a statement that you received these, and that you understand that you are legally obligated by the association documents.

Quote: I agree, I use also cackle and YouTub have been very helpful. But for standards I look to see if what I am looking at is from. England has a higher level of chicken fanciers. They have always had backyard chickens. I know we will some day surpass them in eye candy.

The best resource in the world for photos and information on individual breeds is feathersite. Most of the breed pages include links to their breed clubs (throughout the world) as well as to some breeders, and usually dozens of photos of adult birds and chicks. Henderson's Chicken Breed Chart (http://www.ithaca.edu/staff/jhenderson/chooks/chooks.html) is a good comparison of most of the common (and some not so common) breeds.

Thank you.. You always have great info..

OK, so far so good over here with all of the different ages.. No blood or deaths.. Even with the spay neutered re-release cats..
Well wait I just remembered one.. The youngest were in our garden cart & a cat reached threw & got a hold of one and their wing..
It is still alive.. Just missing part of the wing.. Not one eyed willy, but one wing wholly..

Loraine that just got done with hatching our first babies, still chases after our dog phoebe.. Then kent chased off the wild cat..
Fun times in our front yard this evening..

Sad news down here. Last night I got home around 8pm and found one of the black sexlinks dead in the run. No idea why. Food and water were available and shade was available as well. I had asked my wife to check on the girls around 5:30pm and she added water to a couple of containers, she said everyone was great and no problems were noted. In the period of 3 hours the sexlink laid down next to the trough and died? Weird, ofcourse my kids are crushed and I'm a little miffed. I mean seriously, no problems and everybody was eating and drinking. What is even weird-er was the turkeys were laying down next to the sexlink out in the run. My son went and put them in the coop and they roosted right away. As of this morning, everyone seems fine. *crossed fingers*

I speak for myself, I a void heart break as much as I can. Have found over the years that it is part of life includes having your heart to be broken. So much joy can be lost if the fear of a broken heart, makes to to make avoidence your life's goal. Small tragedies helps in coping with greater ones. Having answers always seem to help with the acceptance part of death, any death. Not having answers is an area of acceptance that builds greater strength within, some of us turn to faith {not going there, it would require a dissertation}.
Hugs and understanding for all goes a long way. Acceptance is totally neutral, we go on and keep on caring and loving.

:hugs

Birds are really good at hiding health problems. And sometimes those problems come on suddenly, like heart attacks or scorpion stings. You never know. It's hard to find them dead for no apparent reason. I hope everyone else in your coop stays well.
