Arizona Chickens

The "Goat Riders" are too funny not to post. Just got the goat not too long ago and the chickens like to Roost on him. He actually had a little lice when I received him but the chickens have eaten all of the little pests right off of him.

The little white ones that I can't remember the breed have Blackish Specks on the back of their necks. They're very affectionate birds too. Whatever they are I like them. Maybe someone can tell me what they are?

Thanks again

Where did you get them? It could be a mix..

wow so I have been building the duck run and planting. I got the new dust bath done in the large coop and added some tree branches for something new for my chickens. I am so sore, but it is all worth it. The ducklings have a 45 sq ft run to play in. They have not even walked the whole area yet. My garden is another 42 sq ft section. I have cervical spinal stenosis and deteriorating joint disease so I can only do things in stages. Thank God for my amazing husband and my youngest son who like to help with the farm. :) I only have 3 more coops to build and get the goat pen back in shape for my new goats and then pigs by fall....so much to do. Oh and my apple tree has apples on it. I was so excited to see that. I did not expect apples for another year.

I wanted to share pics....

Yeah, CF beat me to it. I'm a city boy, but that black one is definitely not a chicken!

Yeah, I've been working on the Jersey Hilton all morning. Gotta hurry to get it done before these guys get feathers!

I am asking $15.00 for the hens. Thelma, Typsy are hens last month, Eclare, Lisa, and Rosa will be hens this month. Lucy is special, she is almost 2 but lays 6 to 7 eggs a week. The chicks, because they will most likely be dinner and you have to feed them up yet, soup in 2 months 5 months for the pot or grill, I am asking $3.00 each.

I would love to keep them until the 12-13th, but life doesn't always work that way. Their homes will be coming down right after the week end. They will have no home.

I bought all of them from The Stock Shop in Phoenix except the RIR. They were just straight run from someone on CL. Looks like I got 2 and 2 from the RIR bunch. Wish I knew that wing feather trick then. Good thing is, since I have 2 Roos to get rid of, I get to replace them with other breeds. I'm addicted to BYC now so an excuse to get more chickens is awesome.

The big black one is my favorite chicken. Lays weird eggs though. Cracks me up how the chickens take refuge on his back
