These are my 2 RIR young Roos. About 7 weeks old or so. Maybe 8 weeks. Very used to being handled. They follow me wherever I go and are very used to being held.

My sister lives there and will be coming here in the middle of next week. I can see if she would be willing to take them back with her. Or I might be going there next Saturday...

That would be AWESOME! !! I will talk to Sommer and see if thats ok or I have someone that can foster possibly too. Thank you all so much. Our group is so amazing! !

It's the "Want to Buy/Sell/Trade" Forum. It's a dangerous, dangerous section and should be quarantined due to the epidemic outbreak of Obsessive Chicken Collection Disorder. It's far more contagious than Ebola and there is no known cure. The 12-step support groups tend to be an epic failure as well, with many confessing to a new breed they acquired. This often results in a relapse of their condition and the required addition of a new or larger coop. Be warned, it's a very slippery slope...
Ah, thank you for the warning! I will steer clear of that forum...well maybe just take a peek every now and then

Hey guys! Sorry I kinda dropped off the face of the earthfor a while lol. I had the fair and then catching up on school. Anyhow, I got all my young ones in the big coop now! And I got some meat hens at the fair I'll be slaughtering soon.

Hi, I joined last night and I live in Mesa. What is EE??

is there really a 12-step group for buying too many chickens?I have four hens and I have 4 adolescent chicks and I have two other baby chicks and 1 turkey a white broad wing. NOW, , I WANT a lavender Americana! I gave 2 red Island Rhodes chicks to my new neighbor & a buff and blk astralorp (spelling? ?) To a young mama as I promised her! :)
This is soo addictive! HELP! ^-^

How about the "drip trays" from large flowerpots?
That's what the pot saucers are. Make sure that they are the Italian clay, and it usually says made in Italy. The ones made in Mexico are low temp fired and brittle. They end up flaking and cracking way sooner than the Italian clay.

I stopped in Goodwill this morning and scored two terracotta wine coolers for $3 and $4!

I'm planing on using them to keep my quail cooler this summer. I filled them with water and let them sit and after the clay got saturated they were amazingly cool to the touch! Since the quail cages are elevated to keep the dogs from going after them they don't have the ground to scratch into. Even though their cages are well shaded I worry about the extreme heat. These coolers along with the saucers will help them stay cooler.
