Yes, that setup is essentially what I had. Each adult had their own space, and I had a grow out pen that I moved the little ones into after mom's cage got too crowded. The bottles did not last the whole day, unfortunately, but it was close, because the water was still cool when I got home. Not cold, but cool. I only put one bottle in each cage, so I was only working with 6 bottles total. Three that were in use, and three in the freezer. Luckily I had an extra freezer in the garage, or space would have been an issue. I experimented with several waterers and didn't like any of them. I think the problem was the volume. They were all too small to keep the water at a comfortable temperature. If you can do something with a bucket or larger volume of water, it will be easier to keep it cool.Thank you pimachickens, since you have experiences, I have more questions now if you don't mind.
* Per my research, seems you need at least 3 sections for the herd, one for male, one for female and one as brith/grow out pen? Is that right?
* A 2 gallon apple juice bottle ice will last a whole day? To leave 2 bottles for each pen, that adds up to at least 6 bottles a day? Do you keep an extra freezer? I don't think I have that much space in my freezer.
* What kind of waterer do you use? I use nipples on 1 gallon water jug in the shade for my chickens so far the water hasn't got too hot yet.
That's STILL on! Weeknights, 8pm, MeTV. It's my 9yr old's favorite show. He even renegotiated his whole bedtime/reading routine with me so that he could watch it. He laughs so hard! I guess coconut bombs never go out of style.![]()
True ! Never enough plants but my biggest addiction is IRIS. I have about fifty or more and every year want new ones.Excellent news!Hmmm...not sure if it ever stops.
I hope the red raspberry is still in its winter slumber.![]()
Beautiful if you ever have extra bulbs that you want to sell or just share let me know. I have Large Cannas and Hollyhocks although they are not yet blooming. I will take pics when they do. I love Iris.
