OK, so what can I get locally that is NOT GMO? Preferably in 50# bags, and preferably 20% protein or better. I'm raising "oil tanker" breeds (Jersey Giants and Cochins) so I prefer a higher protein feed.Purina = GMO =![]()

Went there and put my two cents in.I almost never click on links like the free-food-for-survey because there's so much malicious stuff out there. That said, it seemed legit coming from BYC, but the way they wasted people's time is pretty malicious too. I wonder how much time if you added up all the BYC members that went there and filled out the survey only to be denied? Bah! Anyway, here's what Nifty had to say about it and it's probably worth reading.

Good for you! I think you'll be happy about that decision in the long run. What sounds so crappy about that Purina scheme is they knew they were going to disqualify a certain number of people for various criteria, yet they did not ask those questions first. It doesn't even sound like they were up front that certain people would be disqualified. Instead, they waited until the end when they got all of the info they needed without having to pay anything out. Certainly not to anyone who already used the product which underscores the blatant ploy of the tactic.

Quote: Yeah, I get my Modesto Milling at O.K. Feeds. I'm sure at a cost much above what you're paying. The birds seem to like it. There's also the Big Sky feed co-op, which I think they now deliver to Tucson where you have to pick up your pre-order at a particular place and time. People like that stuff too.
Any certified organic feed by definition does not contain GMO. A lot of the feed stores carry organic now. You just have to call around and ask what they carry. I get mine directly from Modesto Milling, I think OK Feeds carries their feed. Not close to you, I know.
Just looked it up on Google. LOL! About 2 blocks away from my favorite gun shop! Will be heading down there this weekend. What do they get for a 50# bag?Yeah, I get my Modesto Milling at O.K. Feeds. Alright, but you probably should sit down first. At O.K. Feeds I pay about $38 for a 50 lb. bag. I think the feed from Big Sky is cheaper, but I believe it's mash and not pelletized. I think the fermenters like it for that.
That isn't too terrible. Does OK have a pretty good selection of MM's products? I checked out the MM website and couldn't get any prices, but it said someone would contact me within 48 hours. I'm interested in the soy free starter grower crumbles.Alright, but you probably should sit down first. At O.K. Feeds I pay about $38 for a 50 lb. bag. Quote: Yep, they have it, it's what I use when I have chicks. They used to carry organic BOSS from MM, but they haven't in a very long time.
