Arizona Chickens

@a little chiken Tuesday Morning had those puppy pens recently for $19.95, much better than $45+ They may still have some left.

What part of AZ are you in? I love that store but try to stay away as I find to much I like lol. and its way away from me in Tucson
Ya Texas Lilac is also known as Mexican Lavendar, Monk Berry, Sage Tree and some others. I cant find any out here if anyone has any seeds or if they can clip the flower spikes and send them to me I woild apreciate it. My mailing address is P.O. Box 3176 Dateland AZ 85333.
did you see the pic I posted ? If that is what I have I will send you some flower clippings

What color egg do the NN. Lay? & about how many per week?
the 2 I have laying now one lays and off white and 1 lays a cream or a tan egg. My others are not quite old enough. when all my hens get old enough I will have eggs coming out my ears!!! lol. We are hoping the AM/ NN will lay a colored egg but I might need to wait until I breed them and hatch their chicks first. I love projects and chickens let me play so much.

Once you process let them drip, helps get rid of the fat, or slow cook & use the fat for soup & cooking..
what do you mean let them drip...the blood or? just hang them by their feet and let them drip? sry I am a bit confused.

Vitex is monk tree.. I just transplanted 7 of them if they make it I will give them away, or I will also save the seeds & add to the box,

ok well I would love some of those and I will get you some seeds from my bush. I love my Lavender bush. I didnt realize its Lavender but now I will put some in my chicken coop.

I just googled Vitex and I collected a ton of seeds that look like this tree from my DH work. lol. They seeds were getting ready to fall and I loved them so I collected seeds. They come in a pod. The pod has 3 or more round seeds in it. I can probably get more seeds if needed although my kids just knew the security was going to come arrest us for seed thievery.

I've had some that lay as early as week 20. Usually their comb reddens and grows considerably and they start squatting a couple of weeks before they lay their first.
Please keep us updated!

I usually get sexed chicks because I can't have roosters here but, of course, I have ended up with quite a few roosters anyway. Right now I have three 9 wk old straight run BCMs and I'm almost positive that 2 are roosters. They are in my little grow-out coop.
I also have two 4 week old sexed chicks that I got to break my BA of her broodiness. She accepted them and is caring for them in one end of my big coop. One is a BR and the other is a BA. I suspect the BA might also be a rooster! (not growing feathers on the shoulders)

If anyone tries the rooster collar, let me know. I would love to keep one of the BCMs if it works.
