Arizona Chickens

I'm new to chicken keeping. I'm not sure I could do the cap on thing. Do you know of any place in Phoenix that would take in rooster? He seems very sweet and actually runs away from my older hens.

What do I have? Got this one with couple of welsummers from CL, she is full grown but very small, lay white eggs, very fast, very flighty, very loud. The owner says she came from neighbor but I think it might be a wild bird bred with a chicken? Any ideas? Here is a picture, sorry for the quality, very hard to get a good picture when she is constantly moving.

How is she with the other birds Frank? She does look odd. Can't tell if it's the pic or what but is her beak really large?

Birds can breed with chickens??

I am new to BYC so if I break the rules, feel free to correct me. Thanks to K9Dave for bringing me onboard. I live in Queen Creek AZ and build chicken coops and raise chickens. I have 5 flocks., Lavender Americanas, Golden Marans, Cream Legbars, Bielefelders and Blue Wheatons. The LA's and Wheaton's are juvies yet and the Beilefelders are just about to start laying. I have Marans and Legbars in the incubator. If all goes well I will be hatching about 125 chicks a week. Shipping will be available as well as local pickup. I am SO nervous!

and excited! Tomorrow is Lockdown for my first time ever hatching experience. I "think" there are 12 viable eggs out of the original 15 and am going to do one last candling tonight.

Please send me some good karma for a successful hatch.
I have Ameracaunas and Black Copper Marans and Wheaton Marans and one Blue Laced Wyandotte.

Odds are, not ALL of them will be roos, right? Oh, heck, I don't care if they are, I live out where I can have all the roos I want! LOL

Need better pics (less dark), but probably a bantam breed.

I agree that she's probably a bantam, wild birds can't interbreed with chickens. Well, except for red or green jungle fowl, but they are only wild in Asia.

LOL Thanks K9Dave, I will be so tickled if even a few hatch. The more that hatch, the better my chances of getting that chicken coop/shed built!

DH and Son have already been alerted that a building project is anticipated in the near future. LOL
