Arizona Chickens

Thanks Bonnie. I had actually considered a Dexter because of the size of plot in gonna be living on. A lot easier to house a little one. I didn't know they had other breeds. I'll have to look into it.

I have a name and number of a gentleman that raises Dexter in Casa Grande
. Please PM me also on the information. Thank you

So I wanted to put it out there for anyone that wants roosters that I have a NN/BCM, a EE, a Blk AM and some Aloha cockerels/roosters looking for new homes. I know everyone has a lot of extras but I figured it would not hurt for me to ask right?

Help! All out door green forest harvesters. I have scored milkweed. Problem, I'm late the pods are all over 1 1/2" long, but they haven't opened yet.

Can you still eat the larger pods? How do you fix them? Am I just out of luck? I have the smallest ones boiling. I assume you fist still need to boil them twice.

All the recipes refer to 1 1/2" pods or smaller, after reading description, history and all kinds of good info ... But not how to cook until last. Then it is vague.

I miss grass too. But I do not miss having to mow it 2x weekly, weed it, feed it, and listen to the neighbors do the same and above all I do not miss 9 months of 36 degree weather constant pouring rain and 30mph winds for 9 months out of the year. lol
You all should have moved up north to my area - lots of grass and trees and, oh yes, cooler temperatures.

They have pigeon pox vaccine, pretty sure it's not the same. Fowl pox vaccine is stabbed in the wing web with a stabber that looks like a corn cob holder. This pigeon pox vaccine is brushed on open follicles after you pluck a few breast feathers. Thanks for the link, but I've already ordered the fowl pox vaccine.

How old was she?
Condolence from us

Thanks City Farm - she was a year and half. The other two are showing no signs of any issue.

I am making my way farther up there little by little. Hubby just got a job in cottonwood/clarkdale area. We are now looking for our next place and prepping our current one for future sale. Am looking forward to greener surroundings, smaller city & cooler weather even if it's not as cool as you have.
