Arizona Chickens

Found three kissing bugs in the coop this morning :sick They were under the metal water container on a piece of concrete. I squashed them and then checked everywhere for more, and moved the water thing to a different spot. I know we have nasty bugs out in the desert but I don't like actually SEEING them lol. Made me feel itchy for a while after.

But, you can't kill nasty bug's if you can't see them!

Actually, I just looked them up also. It seem's that this place want's to know if you have any, and they are running tests on them:

We had to leave unexpectedly today so I wasn't able to do the cool bath, but I blocked off the nest box. As soon as I came home, I unblocked it and little miss Waffles went right inside and began puffing and growling...before I could even roll my eyes at her she plopped out an egg and then came back out into the run. Maybe she decided it is too hot after all to be sitting in the box all day :fl the barred rock is still broody though, so tomorrow is bath day! I will let you all know how that goes.
Yes, kissing bugs are quite disgusting. I have never seen them before moving out to the rural desert, and hope I don't have to deal with them too much. I wonder if diatomaceous earth would do any damage to them, since I can't use pesticides in the coop.

I stopped eating chicken once I got to know them its too sad for me
But I also never liked most meats I can't stand the texture so i ate it bc that's how you are raised and those are the options

But now I stay away from any meat 90% of the time and chicken 99.9% of the time

Although I think it's sad I understand those that do eat them I guess if they have to go at least they had a better life than a factory bird and are appreciated better

@BlueBaby for me any marinade that has a Mexican base is good i.e. lime, cilantro, oregano etc.

I am one of those who will seldom eat veggies, but I love my meat. I will eat most veggies though, if they are a part of my meat dish. My hubby is a way more picky eater than I am. The only veggie that he will eat is corn, outside of a salad every once in a blue moon.

I butchered my roos this time, instead of throwing them out of the coop to be coyote food.
