Arizona Chickens

I think it would. You know how it works,,, correct. It has to be in the dry stage.
Yep, once it's wet it's useless. But is it totally safe in the coop though, like even if the chickens try to taste it? I've only used it in the garden so far.
We also have neem oil...I need to do some research. From what I've read the only things that kills kissing bugs are bleach/water, certain pesticides, and of course the bottom of my boot!

I can see why you are concerned, as chickens like to try to eat just about everything.

@SMorrison7k welcome what part of az? What kinda chickens do ya have?

I live in SE Arizona...up by the Dragoon Mountains.
I have a rather large flock with quite the variety of birds...
Buff orpingtons, RIRs, RIWs, mottled java, red sex link, Wyandottes, EEs, Ameraucanas, austrolorp, cuckoo maran, blue Andalusian, California gray....I think I covered them all? :lau

Crap! I come back and have like 6 pages to catch up on! Had a big snaffu with the laptop last weekend. Let my step daughter use it to check her email. Long story short - she used her sleeve to wipe off the touchpad, which I'm assuming sent a static shock through everything and toasted the hard drive... and my phone was connected by usb at the time and it wiped the SD card in it, too. I've spent the last few days trying to figure out if anything could be saved. Fortunately I backed up everything last December so I didn't lose all... but everything from the last 5 months, including ALL the pics I'd taken of my babies, are gone. I finally had to bite the bullet and fresh install a new operating system. So whatever I've posted here or on fb since the middle of last December is all that exists of those pics... :(
On the plus side, with this fresh install my computer is running like greased lightening!!!

@cactusrota - I like greased lightening - reverse and get the pics off here - then you'll have some. You just never know what will set off a firestorm!
@SMorrison7k Welcome - we have a number of folks in the Tucson area - I'd have to look again to orient myself to Dragoon/Dragoon Mts but Wilcox comes to mind. Sounds like you have cooler weather than most of us. You have quite a crew of chickens - I do enjoy the eye candy of diversity. I've recently added Naked Necks to my flock - they are about 10/11 weeks old now. Amazing how laid back they are.
@BlueBaby - bet you are on the coyotes black list now! Glad you figured out the rooster thing. I'm not much good at eating mine but do. Those marinates look great. We use lemon pepper often but I'm betting we could use others as long as I refine it for my DH gerd/esophogus disease - no too heave on spices these days!
@SonoranChick - I use DE- food grade - at the bottoms of my nest boxes - not a lot but enough to put the bugs to rest. I also put some in the giant holes where they like to dust bathe - just mixed in with the other moon dust. Just be moderate in your use and keep the dust away from the chickens. You don't want to breathe it - so neither do they. Generally I do it at dusk when everyone's roosting.
Stay safe in the heat friends - I think its here to stay.
