Arizona Chickens

Doesn't the burn way just kill the ant's that you can see, and not the queen and eggs in the ant hill? I've been trying to take care of it all, so I don't have to keep re-doing it every few day's.

Many times the alcohol and flames travel down I use this method when they over run an area after a couple times the problem is gone in that area, maybe they move lol

I don't know if this would be of interest to any of our AZ. member's, but I just got this notice in my USDA newsletter:

Sounds fishy to me the media already trys to blame problems on backyard chicken owners

Yeah, my first thought is they're trying to crack down on people that sell off their extra processed chickens without USDA licenses and inspections. OR on things like testing/vaccinating small flocks. I could be wrong. But this girl has learned not to trust big gov't.

Maybe it's because of there being such an increase in peoples interest in the bigger meat birds? They can't even control the veggies that have been making people sick through these past few years! I don't trust big gov't neither, so I'm with you on that. Maybe it's just another way for them to make more money from making people have to get a licence, or to be able to get more tax money from the "peon's".

Help, fuzzy was fine this morning came home at 2 pm she was weezing otherwise fine I did a heat stress treatment, bucket dip, ice water drink and she stuck her head next to the a.c. vent, she calmed down but starts weezing a bit when I let her go she seems fine and when I put ice water on her nostrils and crest she stops weezing but is still weezing a little bit when she walk off she acts healthy otherwise this is a video, its not mine but sounds just like her

Maybe she's complaining about the heat. Other than that, I did have this chart bookmarked to see if something might be wrong:

Have you had misters on quite a bit? I'm really careful with misters. I have this theory. No science - just my gut telling me to be careful. We raise dry area birds who live at almost no humidity. When we add humidity we almost always hear wheezing. Think back to having monsoon rains three/four days in a row. I think they have allergies to something in the soils that comes up with the moisture. We keep the area dry'ish and they seem better. I just don't understand that off the wall, happens in a couple hours thing with the wheezing. Hope she's feeling better now.
