Arizona Chickens

I hope so! Looking for friendly hens, as well. I'm already nervous about next summer's heat, but i'm glad to have some time to get used ti bring a chicken mom before the heat comes again.

Yes, our summer heat can be harder on some of the breeds, especially the big fluffier ones. We help each other through our hot summers here, so stick around. You can learn a lot from the rest of us here in AZ.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to say hi. I have an order of 9 pullets coming my way mid-September, and those wl be my first chickens. I'm ridiculously excited.

2 Buff Orpingtons, 1 Lavender Orpington, 3 Australorps, 2 Easter Eggers, and 1 Austra White (Australorp/Leghorn - I hadn't heard of it before!)

Welcome! This az thread is full of really nice people study lots bc there's lots to be prepared for, is are soo fun
I have buff orps and Easter eggers, I love them both they are sweet and friendly the orps will have a hard time but yo be honest any animal suffers in as heat but you can work to make it easier on them so be excited you are right it will be easier on you for them to come in the fall!

I had another ultrasound this morning (baby looks great!) and ended up spending half the day in town running random errands...hate it when that happens. Then when I came home to relax, I went out to clean the poop boards and someone decided it would be fun to poop ALL OVER the roof :barnie These were not nice, cute little poops either. It was a huge mess that required soap and water to clean up. I told them, this is not very lady-like haha. It feels good to finally be inside relaxing. Looks like a storm may be rolling in too!

I'm glad that the baby is still doing good! I hope that if the storm rolls in that it won't cause as much damage as the last one did. That's chickens for you... they do what they want, not always what we want though.

I know what it's like to be a celebrity! Not being able to walk out the front door without being spotted, trying to get in somewhere and fans clamoring to get to you jumping on you and when one fan spots you soon everyone hears the news and comes running...

Well ok a celebrity in the chicken world

BUBU NATION BABY! :gig
