Arizona Chickens

I’m on a diet so I’m eating really healthy. Tonight I made a crab cake just added salt and one of Emma’s eggs. I had some crumbs leafy over so gave them to the girls. It was like a feeding frenzy. They loved it. I’m going to make those muffins. The cow manna pro does it come in a huge bag.

I don't know if manna pro make's it for cows or not, but that's what I buy in the chick starter feed for my chicks after they hatch. I add a bit of water to it, just enough to soften it up enough for me to mash the bigger pieces in it so that the newly hatched won't choke on it. I buy the 25 lb. bag from Walmart.

I gave mine a little bit of lettuce and cut up carrots for a treat today. I had to change out the bulb in my brooder lamp a little while ago. I noticed it had burned out when I went in to check on them. Cocoa had the poopy butt starting in, so I cleaned that up, too.

I'm finding feathers everywhere, it's slowly getting worse. One of the girls has a bare belly and one has a bare chest. I wonder if they're cooler, although I imagine not all that comfortable. Poor things. I ordered a HUGE bag of dehydrated mealworms today. They like them if I rehydrate with cold water. Those and some molt muffins should help.
Even my 7 month old pullets that just started laying a couple months ago have stopped again to molt! My whole flock is having a molt party, I swear! I've been adding pond fish pellets to the fermented feed to up the animal proteins and it seems to be helping. Everyone has pin feathers growing all over the place right now. Some of them are replacing a years worth of whoring themselves out to the roosters:

What's frustrating is alot of the ones that don't really need it are growing in new feathers, and the ones that are really bad and really need it, aren't. If they don't start soon I'll have to put hen saver saddles on this just to keep them warm this winter...
