Arizona Chickens

Sorry to hear you had a bad day at work. Hopefully your chickens were able to help lift your spirits once you got home. That always works for me. Thank you for the corn meal tip, I can definitely try that! We've got some in the pantry right now.

My blood pressure has been good ever since my bubus have been with me, they definitely help heal my bad days too!

I'm feeling pretty good considering we are only a week and a half away from the due date! Thanks for asking :) I am swollen, slow-moving, a little tired, and very anxious to meet our little girl. I can't wait to update you all when she arrives! She's due Nov. 5th but I just keep thinking she might be an October baby.

My first is a girl, don't worry about being late, my girl was 3 days early, I asked and willed her to come on that specific weekend bc I liked the on call OB much better than my own and she obeyed! :lau

Ok. They say that the first born's are usually late.

Not mine. I only had one and he was more than a week early. Personally I think it was because he was so dang long and got tired of the confined space in my huge belly. I just couldn't stretch anymore. My son was born with feet so big we had to buy toddler socks instead of baby socks for him at birth.

Each baby is sooooo individual...
We had a beautiful homebirth planned, but my son decided to take the emergency exit.... When the midwife told my husband I had to go to the hospital, he had to pick me up, and put me in the car, because I refused to go.
So much for plans....
:caf watching your posts with anticipation...:love

Ok, I guess that that myth has been busted, then!

I had big baby boys. The first weighed 9 and a half pounds and was about a week early and yes I delivered him but barely! The second boy the doctor said was getting too big - I had 4 weeks to go - so he did an x-ray (I know dated me!! He's 46 in December) and he said here's what we've got - your baby is about 9 1/2 pounds, his head is bigger than the last one and he's long. I chose an early c-section and didn't wait. He weighed 9.3 and was almost 25" long! So believe me when I say there are as many different stories as there are babies. Yours will be the best in the whole wide world, after all it has all these chicken folks pulling for you. Personally, I can't wait!! Lets go for the 31st of Oct - what a birthday party!

Thank you all so much for all of the positivity and good wishes! We had quite an eventful morning...my blood pressure has slowly been on an upward trend and I had to go to triage at labor and delivery this morning. They did lots of monitoring (baby is fine!) and made the decision to send me home, but due to gestational hypertension, my doctor scheduled me to be induced Monday night!! So she will likely be here Tuesday, maybe Halloween. Looks like I'm getting my October baby after all! She will be about 1 week early.

Although I was not planning on an induction, I'm kind of relieved that we have a date set. I like to plan things out, and this way I can be sure the chickens have full food and water containers before we go Monday. The neighbors are feeding the dogs and collecting eggs. I said they could keep any eggs they collect...that's a pretty good deal right? :D

@igorsMistress we are doing disposable diapers for now, and breastfeeding. We will meet with a lactation consultant at the hospital after she's born, so hopefully I can get the hang of it before we head home.

Sorry to hear about your bp. Mine was always low when I was pregnant. I had a good doc though as I'm sure you too.

Congratulations on the the October baby!
