Color their vent's in different colors of lipstick or food coloring. (If you use Lipstick for this, don't use it on your lip's again.) The color will be on the egg when she lay's one again.

using the lipstick again would not be a problem, I don't wear the stuff..lol.. I'd have to find sample tubes. Wonder if Avon still gives away the free little tubes.

I don't know, as I never buy any Avon. Food coloring is ready available though in grocery stores, as people use it to color food's, and to die Easter egg's for Easter.

Er....how do you apply food coloring to the back end of a chicken?the idea of using lipstick on my chickens brings an image that neither my chickens nor I would relish. Lucky for me, they both lay brown.

By putting a drop of the food coloring at the vent the same way where a rooster deposit's his zizz at when he breed's them.

I don't have to do that myself as I'm almost always at home to where I can be out there to see when the pullet's start laying and catch who did it. Marking the vent's like that are more for people who can't be out there as much as I am to see it happen. There are other thread's here at this site that mention marking the vent's like that. I read a lot of the thread's here, even if I do not comment in them.

I can see it now. Sitting on a bucket, Lipstick in one hand, hen on lap, other hand spreading feathers...

When My partner walks in and stares at me with that look, you all know the one.

Mouth opening and closing several times before asking "What ARE you doing?"
