Update with pics of completed CPOW!My Chicken Project Of Week CPOW!
To build a chicken pen in a new raised bed in the greenhouse for the 4 Polish and a 10 year old hen. This should simplify my chicken chores and make these 5 much happier. It's also expanding my planting area in a couple months by putting these 5 to work now. I'll update post with finished project pics soon.

overall view (below) we used raised bed masonry blocks with rebar at each corner (specialty block about $3 each). Two 16 foot Cattle panels bent in an "L" shaper to form a corner inside the wood frame 6'x12' -so three 2x6 12'long - chop one in half. Cattle Panels covered in chicken wire.
I used some pieces of handi-panel as a divider to make 2 pens and as a top over the middle of divider. We had the shade cloth (salvaged from a contruction site fence wrap for free) to put over the rest of the top with a few wood supports at top.

Phoenix pretty much.Where are you in the state?
Howdy NeighborHello everyone, I'm sure I've posted here in the past, but I moved up to Golden Valley (north west of Kingman) recently and I wanted to see if any of you BYC-ers live in my area!
I'll be getting quail soon, and have a flock of layers (Barred, Dominique, Cochin, Black Sex Link, and an EE cross roo). Maybe in the future I'll have broiler chickens, though I dont eat meat it would be nice to have an income using the sneaky little loophole in our system-- sell the bird prior to slaughter, deliver to the slaughterhouse for the customer, give the name for pick up, done! Learned that from a local farmer so we'll see how that goes in the future!
Awe floppy, happy for her. How much warmer is it in there?Update with pics of completed CPOW!

Not really much warmer at night but it blocks the wind. When sun is out probably +10 or +15 degrees. We have a shade cloth over a bout a 3rd of the greenhouse that I need to take off for winter. There's a wood stove which we haven't fired up but once in 4 years. Need aAwe floppy, happy for her. How much warmer is it in there?
