Arizona Chickens

I love an omelet with cheese and lots of semi-raw veggies for breakfast--yum! Maybe by spring the chickens will start laying. They've been hiding out in the coop for a day or so because of the rain.

Hoping for more rain to keep the well happy. The dogs don't mind it at all with their thick coats, but as soon as they're out the door I close the doors to any room where muddy paws and fur would mean a massive cleanup.

Sweet relish. You've got me wanting to make these again for this year. They are cute and taste good.

I add a tad of garlic, pinch of sugar, & honey mustard. I doubt I can make a full plate of banty egg’s at this point. Only 2 silkies are laying, #1-2 & 3 are still up for debate on cockerel or hen. The 2 hens that are laying have larger combs so if they did not lay I would be listening for a crow. I know you don’t do silkies but anyone reading, here

This may seem silly as a chicken owner but I’m not a big fan of eggs :lau The texture and taste does not sit well with my tastebuds! The only time I eat egg is in a breakfast burrito with ham or sausage mixed in or in an omelet :)
I am kinda with you, I feel I go through phases. My family loves them & I do like egg salad with lots of onion & pickles.

I am making THOSE! I just now boiled 18 eggs so ready to make it this afternoon. THANK YOU for the great recipe. I'll make my husband take some to the neighbor's for his birthday Sunday too (since his wife said no need to bring his favorite beverage). I don't want to show up to a gathering (small tho it be) empty handed.

I'll use gloves to make it so no one even thinks there are germs on them.

Great! Let me know what they think of all of those Santa egg's! ;)

I spoke too soon - I boiled teh oldest eggs I had - but not old enough - so I don't think I'll have enough good looking ones to make the fancy Santa Deviled Eggs 😒
I guess I'll just hold onto the remaining oldest ones til Christmas Eve to see if I can still make them!

Check out one of our sweet silkies egg, bottom of course. So fun to make deviled eggs with these small ones. What’s your recipe for deviled egg’s? Some like sweet relish, while others like dill? Any preferences?View attachment 2444742
I like them with a little horseradish or with mustard and dill. We use hotdog relish sometimes, or a little chopped bacon and some onion powder.

Looks like #2 might have some streamers coming in.. possibly. What are their ages again? Can you take a close up of each comb and full body?

So there was still a bit of rain in the evening/early morning in my neighborhood, yippee! Who knows how long til the next rain, so I'm happy w every drop. Just a bit too soggy for my seeds.. or for me to not sink into the soil. The livingstone daisy seeds are about ground salt size and even lighter in weight, so you need to drop them where you walk. Can't wait to have things looking pretty after the sun blast summer!!
