Arizona Chickens

Hi everyone, I haven’t been too active because of some health concerns in the family but just a few minutes ago I discovered that my roo is missing! They have a completely covered coop/run and in the daytime I let them out to free range in the yard. I went out to close the coop door and was so confused when only my hen was roosting! I doubt a cat took them as there were no feathers or sign of a hassle anywhere, and I feel like I would have heard a commotion. My only theory is that he somehow “flew” into the nearby alleyway. Any ideas?

Have you noticed any hawk's or coyotes hanging around?

How about in the bushes, under the porch, other hiding places? I came home once and one was under the porch, the rest were in the coop, and figured some thing/predator scared them. by now, he's hopefully someplace he feels safe, maybe on top of a garbage can in a corner somewhere for the night. Hope you find him!

Thank you, we’re going to look in the neighboring alleyway and drive around the street. If not, hopefully we can hear his crows in the morning and track him down.

Any success? Do you think someone might have taken him?

If you're in the city and someone found a rooster, they might have called animal control or taken him to the humane society.

Awe, man hope you find him. Keep us posted.

I live in the city so I haven’t seen any hawks at all, same for coyotes. The only predator I can really think of is a stray cat, but I suppose anything is possible.
There are grey foxes in cities. My mom lived at Dobson and Brodway. They had a family of them for the longest time. A bunch of friend say they see them in Tempe all the time.

Update! Our roo was found :) we didn’t hear any crows and searched in the alley with no luck, so we had pretty much accepted that a cat might’ve taken him. But just a few moments ago we pulled into the driveway and there he was just walking around the front lawn! His feathers look a bit ruffled but otherwise completely fine, now time to scold him for staying out past his bedtime :lau
