Yup! I think most modern lines, especially in their countries of origin have been unethically bred for size and aggression. It’s my understanding that there had always been a dog fighting history within the breed, but now it’s become even more prominent.

Thankfully, some lines still remain true to their LGD nature, and are not as large as what comes up on Google (though still massive dogs).

Yeah, to be honest they might be a bit too big for my needs. Even the scrawniest of LGDs should be able to deal with foxes. But these guys tick a lot of my boxes. Perhaps as a second LGD, since they are quite intense. Not that any of the other LGD breeds that tick my boxes aren’t as, if not more primitive
